Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell earned her medical degree from Geneva Medical College in New York, becoming the first woman to do so in the United States. She practiced medicine in both the United States and the United Kingdom and co-founded the New York Infirmary for Women and Children. Her career combined clinical practice, medical education, and advocacy for the advancement of women in the medical profession.
